Plymouth film festival is open to everyone, regardless of your age, experience or genre of your film there’s an award that could be yours, check out the different categories below to see which you’d like to enter. Please contact us if you are unsure as to your films eligibility.
PRIZE – £500
Awarded by a panel of esteemed judges this prestigious award will be chosen from amongst the nominated films meaning all films entered into any category are automatically eligible.
PRIZE – £250
Open to any genre of fiction film including animation, and experimental. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.

Open to all documentary films. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.

Highlighting and celebrating the best film-making talent within the local area, you must currently reside in one of the following counties: Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire to be eligible for this award. All genres of film are allowed. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.

Open to anyone currently in education, for any genre of film. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.

Open to all comedy films. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.

Open to all animation films. If the film is not in English then English subtitles are required.
During each screening voting slips will be issued giving you the audience a chance to let us know which film you enjoyed the most at the festival. A winner from each screening will be awarded and all nominees are eligible for this prize.
